It may not look like much from this picture, but in these four rows I planted 50 pounds of potatoes, which came out to 357 potato plants.  If each hill produces 1 pound (which is minimal), that will be 357 pounds of potatoes!  In the picture you will notice straw.  I am experimenting, and hopefully beating, the potato bugs at their own game.  I was told if you use straw around your potatoes it will keep the potato bugs away.  I am willing to try anything at this point!!  They are so gross!!  I need to finish adding straw to the rest of the rows.  Here’s hoping for no potato bugs!!
