Today was miscellaneous planting day.  In went the Round Red Ace Beets, and the Vitana Carrots.  I am hoping to have better luck with them this year.  Last year was total crop failure, so this year I tried some different varieties, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed!  Also, the first planting of lettuce and spinach -- all four 125 foot rows -- did not come up!!  Again!!  So today I hand sowed the spinach seed into the upper garden.  I am beginning to think that the vacuum seeder does not work well with the tiny, tiny seeds.  I will be curious to see what happens.  I also am trying a few super hot pepper plants for Mike since he likes to eat food as hot as, well, you know....hot as hell:-0
